One for the romantics here: this exquisite 18ct gold necklace features a beautiful diamond-studded open-heart centrepiece with 9 marquise-cut sapphires as the focal point. DETAILS: The central 9 marquise-cut sapphires range from approx. 5.60mm to 2.70mm to approx. 6.00 mm x 3.00mm, each being 3-claw basket set. Three pear mixed-cut sapphires flank them at the top. There are 37 8-cut diamonds set into the heart frame, ranging in diameter from approx. 1.50 mm to approx. 1.60mm. To either side of the pendant, set as articulated links, are more gems: 6 round brilliant diamonds on either side and 5 circular mixed-cut sapphires. The necklace is connected by a fancy link chain, comprising plain polished navette-shaped hollow links. It has a box clasp closure with figure-of-8 safety catch. The calculated sapphire weight of this piece is 6.22ct. All exhibit an inky blue tone. The total diamond weight is calculated as 1.70ct, quality assessed as J-K colour and I2-I3 clarity. A qualified gemmologist has assessed them as NATURAL. The necklace is hallmarked at the clasp 18ct gold (Birmingham), sponsors FBS, and weighs 24.81 grams in total.
