Don’t just take our word for it
We’ve compiled some questions that we are often asked about jewellery and watches. If you don’t find the answer you need here, you can drop us an email at info@charlesfish.co.uk.
No, however the price we offer will vary depending on whether or not the watch is sold with box and papers along with any hang tags and original accessories.
Ensure you take a photograph of the watch head-on, along with images of accompanying effects, for example, box and papers plus any hang tags and accessories.
Yes, especially if it’s a newer watch like a modern Rolex. But we will still require you to fill in our online form, and our quote may change once we receive it, so sending as much information upfront, ideally with pictures, is the quickest way to get an accurate offer.
Subject to our sales needs, no.
Generally speaking, no. Unless we have been told your watch is unworn, we anticipate that it will have a few scratches, and we will have already factored in the cost of a refurbishment!
This won’t be necessary: we service and polish our watches in-house.
We don’t provide packaging and would advise you to ensure it is well wrapped - either in its original box or another study inner box, bubble-wrapped and inserted into a strong outer cardboard box, and marking it as FRAGILE for postage.
We use a trusted carrier and all our parcels are insured up to their value. There is tracking along the way and you’ll be notified once we receive it. If you’d prefer, you can bring it to us in person at our Walthamstow branch.
It should take just 48 hours from us receiving the watch to you receiving payment in your bank account.
Very occasionally, if a watch doesn’t look as described or there seems to be a serious mechanical issue, we may adjust our original offer. You are free to refuse this and we will return your timepiece free of charge.

Absolutely! We offer a number of part exchange options, including exchanging a watch of equal value or of higher or lower value. On occasion, we can exchange watches for gold and/or diamonds.
