Created by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, the first Tudor watch was designed to encompass the same quality and dependability as a Rolex watch, at a much more modest and accessible price point. Almost a hundred years later, Tudor is a flourishing brand in its own right, loved by Swiss watch collectors around the world. Aside from luxury timepieces, Tudor is known for their outstanding performance watches, designed for use by professional divers and the military.

Aside from luxury timepieces, Tudor is known for their outstanding performance watches, designed for use by professional divers and the military.
The Tudor brand was founded in 1926, bringing Rolex’s already iconic craftsmanship to a brand new market. By the 1940s, Tudor had released the Tudor Oyster collection, incorporating the trademark waterproof Oyster case that had previously been exclusive to Rolex watches. This was followed by the addition of the self-winding rotor in 1952, kickstarting Tudor’s journey to performance watches. By 1958, Tudor had followed in Rolex’s footsteps once again to release the Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner, waterproof up to a depth of 200 metres. From then, Tudor watches became the go-to choice for the French and US Navy, as well as accompanying British researchers on a scientific expedition to Greenland.
